BSV Stans organizes a Swiss-Danish handball-camp

This autumn there will be a very special meeting between young handballers from Switzerland and Denmark. Due to the “Gästival”, the celebration of 200 years of hospitality in the central region of Switzerland, BSV Stans invites youth teams from Denmark to a training camp. This extraordinary project is created in cooperation with the Danish handball club Holte Håndbold. A club which former players and coaches of BSV Stans have a special connection with.

From Sunday the 4th of October to Saturday the 10th of October 40 Danish children will take part in this training camp. The guests from the north are all housed at local host families. There they will take part in the Swiss everyday life. On the Swiss side 30 youth players and 10 coaches are participating in this project. Sports activities are the essence of this campaign so obviously there will be trainings every day. Additionally there will be hiking and an orienteering race in the forrest called Kernwald. Of course national games Switzerland vs. Denmark are planned.

Culturel exchanges between children and grown-ups are to be encouraged. In order for this to succeed everyone participating will go to the peak of the Stanserhorn-mountain. There they will join in in a traditional Swiss meal called “Älplermagronen”. The essential trip to the city of Lucerne is on the program as well - of course. The get-together planned for Tuesday night is expected to be another highlight of the week. In the frame of this event 50 kids who are participating in the Nidwaldian folk music camp will perform. These young musicians will be playing tunes from Denmark as well as from Switzerland, hence making further interesting events possible. BSV Stans is happy to announce that the Linsi AG Lucerne could be attained as head sponsor of the handball camp.
